Mobile Allotment is an exciting and ambitious project devised by artist Lisa Cheung, working in collaboration with Avant-Gardening, that aims to engage an entire community with creative food growing and arts projects. Lisa Cheung will work with participants to design and build the mobile allotment, a modular moveable structure that will become the central hub for events and community based activities that promote creativity, healthy eating and environmental awareness.
The students have now planted the mobile allotments as well as
taken part in a number of other activities that will be documented
in a forthcoming comic book. From garden gnomes to seed bombs and
flowering shoes to the City of London Festival.
The Mobile Allotment, in its current guise of a mobile sensory
garden, (and shoe display!) will be going on tour next week. You
can visit the mobile sensory garden and say hello to the garden
gnomes at the City of London Festival 21 - 28 June when it will be
resident on the corner of Moorgate and London Wall
